No, it isn't. I keep looking for that white spot out on the lawn or reach for him next to my pillow at night and then remember that he isn't there. :( But he had 16 years of love and it was time for him to go.

*hugs back* It really sucks. But he was old and his body was practically shutting down so it would've been cruel not to let him go. But it's hard.

My best wishes and condolences to you. Having recently lost my 17 year old Cocker Spaniel (actually, it's been almost three years, but I still miss him to this day), I know what it feels like to lose a pet you've had for so long. Hope Gulliver is well, however, and easing some of your pain.
