My poor little cat
Nov. 13th, 2003 10:02 pmis sick. He hasn't been able to keep his food down for several days. I went to the vet yesterday, and they took a blood test. I have to call them tomorrow to find out the results. I so hope it isn't the liver or the kidneys as the vet suspected. Although, my baby is quite old now.
Getting him to the vet was a real adventure. Before, the vet's clinic was in walking distance from our house, so it was just to put the cat in a box (never popular) and walk over. Now, they've moved and I had to drive there. My cat hasn't been in a car since he came to our house as a kitten...
So he wasn't pleased. Half way there, the cat managed to get the box to open a bit and stuck out his head and about half his body. I was sure I was going to have a wild cat howling and climbing around in the car while I was driving, and then having to spend a lot of time getting hold of him without the cat getting out of the car on his own. But he was more frightened by the car that the box, and actually went back inside. That poor thing. I think that's the first time I've been glad he was scared...
And then arriving in an unknown room, having some strange people shave of the hair on his leg, putting a needle through his skin and take some blood, only to then be put back into that hateful box and another terrifying journey in the car back home. I'm surprised he still want to get petted and still sleeps in my bed...
